Logistics Operations Specialist

A leading developer in the global automation market, Pepperl+Fuchs is looking for one hardworking, ambitious individuals to fill a Logistics Operations Specialist for our new facility in Katy, Texas.  

A successful candidate must be able to work in a fast pace environment while quickly connecting with people in a poised, convincing, and enthusiastic way.  This job will be integral in maintaining relationships with our customers.

The main focus of the role is working on and conducting logistics special operations. The objectives are process optimization and harmonization.  

Participation in UDC (our new facility) control room management, including:

  • Participation in the implementation and optimization of warehouse strategies (warehouse occupancy level, relocating to external storage, warehouse area assignment, replenishment process, route optimization)
  • Coordinating with team management (personnel requirements, order management)
  • Coordinating with interface areas for order processing (including sales, production, purchasing, customer  service, P+F IT)
  • Workplace management (activation and assignment based on the order type)
  • Order release, order management, and order prioritization
  • Optimum control and monitoring of the interaction between the critical paths of picking stations and packing stations, as well as pallet storage and mailbox
  • Processing customer complaints (NCRD) reported by the Sales department

Familiarization with UDC processes (areas and workspaces):

  • Familiarization with and auditing of logistical processes in the UDC
  • Participation in the development, assessment, and interpretation of key figures
  • Generating statistics and reports
  • Involvement in conducting process and product training and developing and creating corresponding documents (work instructions and training documentation)
  • Processing UDC-internal problem cases (storage, shortages, uncompleted sales or purchasing orders)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Associate degree and two to five years’ work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the use of the intranet and internet.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills. 
  • Self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
  • Ability to work alongside other employees within all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of MRP system.
  • Team building skills; organizational and staff development skills.
